Founder, Circle of Hope Foundation
Founder
From a young age, Mabel’s elders recognized something special in her—a discerning spirit. Though she didn’t fully understand it then, over time this gift revealed itself as a God-given ability to see potential and talents in others before they could see them in themselves. Her father, a proud farmer from Warrenton, NC, called his youngest daughter “Doctor” long before she held the title, planting the seed of hope and purpose that would guide her life.
Mabel fulfilled that dream, earning her doctorate and devoting her career to lifting others higher. Her calling flourished in Higher Education, where for more than 20 years she served as Professor, Dean, and Vice President at Saint Augustine’s College and Trinity College of Vermont. She inspired countless students and young professionals in business and the sciences, opening doors of opportunity and illuminating new possibilities.
Her journey then expanded onto a national stage. During the final 15 years of her career at NASA, she managed national STEM programs, shaped educational policy, and championed the careers of research scholars, engineers, and scientists. In this role, she not only advanced science and education but also inspired students across the nation and around the globe to believe in their own capacity to achieve.
These experiences became the cornerstone of a greater calling—the creation of a foundation devoted to carrying forward the spirit of hope, vision, and empowerment, ensuring that future generations continue to dream, achieve, and soar.
